The programs and services of CCARI are grounded in supporting research programs, clinics, and hospitals that provide ongoing treatment for cancer and life-threatening diseases; and providing medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics.
Oasis of Hope Research Hospital
Located in Baja California, Mexico the Hospital offers support to patients based on a "Total Care" approach. Oasis of Hope Hospital is one of the world's leading institutions in the research and cancer treatments with integrative therapies, combining the best of conventional and alternative cancer treatments. The hospital, founded by the late Dr. Ernesto Contreras Sr. in 1963, has treated more than 100,000 patients from 55 countries. Under the direction of his son, Dr. Francisco Contreras, Oasis of Hope uses a multi-disciplinary approach to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of its patients. There Doctors take an aggressive and individualized approach to cancer treatment, combining the latest conventional and alternative cancer treatments. This approach gives people who are fighting cancer new options and hope.
Arizona Camp Sunrise
Arizona Camp Sunrise is dedicated to providing an exciting, medically safe camp program for children who have or have had cancer and their siblings. The Sidekicks program, the only program in the state made specifically for the siblings of cancer patients was started because many recognized that these children have unique needs also, and deserved a program of their own. Arizona Camp Sunrise, the first camp in Arizona for children with cancer that began in 1983.The camp is located in R-C Scout Ranch, Northeast of Payson. The camp has grown and now includes facilities of seven sleeper cabins, a fully equipped dining hall and kitchen, and a medical center. The Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks programs now serves thousands of children, with a volunteer staff of more than 100 adults. There are retreats, teen trips, and other special events year round. Arizona Camp Sunrise tries to give these kids a "normal" summer camp experience, in a setting that caters to their special medical needs. Medical staff are on call 24 hours a day. Some traditional camp activities offered include archery, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, arts & crafts, and singing around a campfire. We also offer some non-traditional activities like rappeling, dance, drama, rocketry, magic, scrapbooking, and cooking. We also have fun activities like a dance, a carnival, and the oh-so-sticky Jello War.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
St. Jude's received grants and support for their pediatric treatment and research programs. Their cancer discoveries have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude has some of the most gifted researchers in the world who have have had amazing breakthrough research into treating children with cancer. The toughestr cases in the world are sent to St. Jude for treatment and no one pays more than their insurance covers and those without insurance are never asked to pay.
Wigs for Kids
When children lose their hair as a result of radiation treatments or chemotherapy from cancer or leukemia they don't just suffer physically. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To combat this additional trauma, Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1980 provides a much needed solution. They have the opportunity to impact so many children battling hair loss due to medical challenges such as cancer and leukemia. Wigs for Kids continues to provide complimentary hair replacement systems to eligible children at no cost to them. The cost of one custom hair system is $1,800- $3,000. Each child receives a custom made, human-hair replacement. Each system is specifically designed for that child.
Cancer Research Wellness Institute
The Cancer Research Wellness Institute is one of the leading providers of educational programs, lectures, and informational materials about effective non-toxic cancer therapy that has been proven and has cured thousands of people worldwide throughout the past three quarters of a century. The Gerson Therapy is the most powerful, thoroughly documented, scientifically based of all "alternative" therapies in existence, and it is available to all who need its benefits. In addition, patients needing inpatient therapy treatment can be referred to a center nearest to them. Educational materials are made available to the general public.
The Gerson Institute
The Gerson Institute was provided direct support through grants for their work of educating the public on the prevention and control of cancer and other diseases through Nutrition, Tests, and Non-Toxic Alternative Therapies. A list of patients with controlled cancer is maintained to provide encouragement to other individuals just beginning their devastating experience with cancer. Many claim they owe their lives to the information they have received from The Gerson Institute.
Destiny Medical Fund
Cebu City, Philippines - Supports ongoing cancer projects at hospitals and clinics throughout the Philippines. The Destiny Medical Fund airs daily educational TV programs called, "The Cancer show" and "Mind and Heart". These educational programs feature interviews with recovered patients, family members of patients and doctors, are aired 2 hours each day, 7 days per week and reach hundreds of thousands of viewers throughout the Philippine Islands. The Destiny Medical Fund distributes medical supplies and equipment to hospitals and clinics that treat cancer and other degenerative diseases.
